A 4-1 week pushes us to 29-27 on the year. I think it’s the first time we’ve been over .500 all year. I’ll take it.
DC v. NOLA
The first of four games where only one team remains in the hunt. Old Glory is probably out of this race, but they may be playing the better ball. Injuries have decimated the Gold. DC doesn’t have an elite defense, but NOLA’s attack is floundering. Take the home team to win.
Winner: Old Glory
Austin v. Toronto
Austin is barely keeping things together. The first half against Houston wasn’t inspiring. They need more health in the back line, but they also need more ball carriers. Toronto plays valiantly, but they need to be relieved of their misery. I’ll take Austin in their home finale.
Winner: Gilgronis
Utah v. San Diego
Maybe the toughest call of the weekend. This could be a tight game, or either team could decimate the other. Being in Utah will give Joe Pietersen a chance to flash his leg. This Legion pack is downright terrifying. Utah plays to the level of their opponent, but I don’t thing they have a high enough gear to stop the rolling Legion.
Winner: Legion
RUNY v. ATL
Atlanta has played out of their skin the last few weeks. RUNY had a chance to rest last week. This could be a playoff preview, but I think they next showing will be better than this one. Exhaustion is bound to catch up to Atlanta, and the road trip won’t help.
Winner: Rugby United New York
New England v. Seattle
The Seawolves are out. The Free Jacks are in the hunt. New England is perfect at home. New coach Allen Clarke has Seattle playing tighter ball. This is the type of game that can lead to an upset. But it won’t.
Winner: Free Jacks
Los Angeles v. Houston
This game is between Houston and LA. Are we done here?
Winner: Giltinis
