MLR Final to Air on FOX

The Big is sticking around, but the CBS is changing.

During an interview with Dallen Stanford during halftime of the Dallas Jackals’ inaugural home match, Commissioner George Killebrew announced that FOX would be airing the MLR Final on its main, free-to-air station. It will be the first MLR Final aired anywhere other than CBS in the United States.

The first three MLR Finals games saw increasing viewership. The 2021 Final, which saw the Giltinis lift their first Shield over Rugby ATL, was viewed in over two million homes in the USA, with additional viewers in Canada watching on TSN and other countries able to access the game via The Rugby Network.

The shift away from CBS was largely expected. The league and CBS did not continue its long standing partnership, which dated back to the inaugural year of the MLR. FOX Sports was announced as the sole linear broadcaster for 2022 in the USA, showing games on FS1 and FS2. TSN maintains its role north of the border, while The Rugby Network continues to air all games outside the USA and Canada.
